“Music has always been a way for me to be myself, tell my story, and connect with others. I want my students to feel that same freedom—to grow in their skills, embrace what makes them unique, and find confidence in their own creative voice.”

Ilianna Viramontes is a voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele instructor who helps students build their skills while discovering their own creative voice. She specializes in pop, alternative, singer-songwriter, and country music.

Originally from Brentwood, California, music has been part of Ilianna’s life since childhood, when she sang alongside her drummer dad. A keyboard she received in second grade sparked a love of playing by ear, improvising, and discovering what she could create. Later, her voice teacher, Nuhad, encouraged her to pursue music seriously, helping set her on a path that eventually led to Berklee College of Music and NBC’s The Voice.

In 2017, Ilianna made her debut on The Voice, turning the chairs of Miley Cyrus and Blake Shelton before joining Team Miley. She later studied songwriting at Berklee College of Music, further developing her skills as a songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist.

Now based in Nashville, Ilianna writes, records, and performs her own music, drawing inspiration from everyday life and experiences like childhood, first loves, and growing up. Her approach to songwriting centers on authenticity and connecting with others through honest storytelling.

That same creativity carries into her teaching. Ilianna encourages students to focus on progress rather than perfection and to embrace what makes their voice and artistry unique. Her lessons offer room to explore songwriting, improvisation, and performance while building strong musical skills, curiosity, and confidence.

For Ilianna, teaching is also a way to pay forward the mentorship that shaped her own musical journey. She finds deep fulfillment in helping students grow as musicians, develop confidence, and discover what they want to say through music.
