MEET THOMAS ALTMAN

“The reason I teach is because I believe everyone has the ability to be creative, and musical. Through the process of learning music and how to make it, we uncover a unique way to express ourselves, by which we can better understand each other. There’s also nothing quite like learning how to sound just like your favorite records!”

Since moving to Nashville in 2013, Thomas has built a reputation as a versatile and dynamic multi-instrumentalist and educator, specializing in bass, guitar, piano, drums and music production. Thomas has worked with numerous artists, contributing to Nashville's vibrant music scene through bothlive performances and studio recordings. From country, rock, and jazz to R&B, pop, and more, Thomas's adaptability makes him a sought-after musician, ready to achieve any musical goal through collaboration and adaptability.

Originally from Chesterfield, Virginia, Thomas started playing guitar at the age of 9 and soon after, started learning the bass guitar, piano and drums. In 2009, he attended Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for the Arts and Technology, where he studied guitar and bass in the jazz band, Pieces of the Puzzle, as well as music production. He then went on to attend Belmont University where he graduated in 2017 with a BM in Commercial Music with a Performance Emphasis. Since thenThomas has performed and recorded with many artists and bands including Ian Munsick, Emily AnnRoberts, Jordy Searcy, Stephen Day, Kyndle Wyld, The 12 South Band, The Music City Sound, WillPadgett, John Arrucci, The Tuesday Crew and more.
